End of the Road Hay & Cattle is owned and operated by Andy and Katie Matott, a husband-and-wife team combining deep roots in agriculture with a shared love of the land.
Andy grew up working farms in Wisconsin, where small hay and farming were a way of life. He brings decades of mechanical know-how, livestock handling, and good old-fashioned grit to the operation. He’s the boots-on-the-ground kind of guy who knows how to keep equipment running and cows fed—rain or shine.
Katie brings the brains behind the communication and marketing. She's passionate about local agriculture, community connections, and telling the story of the land and people who work it.
Together, they’re raising cattle, and quality hay on a piece of land with history—and heart.
Ranch Dog Extraordinaire (In His Mind)
Jack is our resident red heeler mix with just enough mischief in his eyes to make us suspect there might be a dash of coyote in the family tree. Equal parts overly confident and mostly useless, Jack believes he’s in charge of the livestock, the ranch, and probably us too.
When he’s not “supervising” hay stacking or “helping” with the cattle (read: standing in the way), Jack can be found napping in a sunny spot or running full-speed laps around the property for reasons only he understands.
Whether he’s chasing shadows, keeping a suspicious eye on the tumbleweeds, or striking his best “working dog” pose, Jack’s real job is bringing laughs to everyone on the ranch. And in that role — he’s top dog.
